91pts James Suckling

The nose is fruit-driven, with aromas of wild blackberries, tobacco and licorice. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated acid and tannins, showing notes of blueberry compote, sweet spices and dried herbs. Drink or hold.

90pts Jeb Dunnuck

The 2022 Red Blend Rabicano Deux Chevaux Vineyard checks in as 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, and 10% Malbec. This pure, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated red has terrific darker fruits, some nicely integrated chocolaty oak, ripe tannins, and outstanding balance. It’s a good value and is impeccably made.

About the Wine

This Bordeaux-style blend weaves together all of the nuance and complexity that we coax from our Deux Chevaux Vineyard.

Vineyard Notes

Our Deux Chevaux Vineyard in Yountville is a versatile site that can ripen a diverse range of grape varieties to perfection. This pristine vineyard is situated in the central region of the Napa Valley, right on the border between the Yountville and Oakville AVAs. In this not-too-hot, not-too-cold, just-right Goldilocks Zone, we have found a perfect home for our estate grown vineyard designate wine program, which encompasses fresh, nuanced and balanced expressions of Chardonnay, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and our signature full-throttle blends.
