ABOUT THIS WINE
The Armance B. cuve, named after Brochets grandmother, is Ampelidaes flagship sparkling wine made in the traditional (mthode traditionnelle) style with secondary fermentation in bottle and extended lees aging of around 18 months. This NV Brut is composed from 100% Chardonnay grown on Ampelidaes organic estates in the Loire, under the broader IGP Val-de-Loire designation.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Ampelidae, founded by Frdric Brochet in the HautPoitou region of the Loire Valley, is an organic estate renowned for its thoughtful terroir-driven approach. Brochetan oenologist and university wine researcherworks biodynamically long before conversions, using regenerative organic methods (certified AB/ECOCERT) to farm low-yield, old-vine plots on clay, limestone, and flintrich soils like chalk and tuffeau.
Ampelidaes ethos centers on innovative yet minimalintervention winemaking: using stainless steel or concrete for fermentation, never oversulfuring, and embracing aging in eggs or amphorae for other cuves. Though Armance is fermented and aged in stainless and bottle only, it reflects this broader philosophy of purity, precision, and terroir expression.
